Production Process for Push-Pull Self-Locking Connectors

Design and Engineering
Specification Analysis: Analyze the technical specifications and requirements for the connector, including electrical, mechanical, and environmental factors.
3D Modeling and Prototyping: Use CAD software to create a 3D model of the connector. Prototype the design using 3D printing or other rapid prototyping methods.
Material Selection: Choose materials for the housing, contacts, and insulators based on durability, conductivity, and environmental resistance requirements.

Material Procurement
Metal Components: Source high-quality metals such as brass, stainless steel, or aluminum for the connector housing and contacts.
Insulating Materials: Procure insulating materials like PPS, PEEK, PTFE, or other polymers for the insulators.
Coating Materials: Obtain materials for surface treatments, such as nickel or gold plating, to enhance conductivity and corrosion resistance.
Manufacturing Process

Metal Stamping and Machining
Stamping: Stamp out metal components, such as contact pins and sockets, using precision dies.
CNC Machining: Machining of the connector housing and other components to exact dimensions using CNC machines.
Deburring: Deburr all machined and stamped parts to remove sharp edges and ensure a smooth finish.

Injection Molding
Mold Design: Design and create molds for the plastic or polymer components, such as the connector’s insulating parts.
Molding Process: Use injection molding to produce insulating parts that fit precisely with the metal components.

Surface Treatment
Cleaning: Clean all metal components to remove oil, dust, and other contaminants.
Plating: Apply nickel, gold, or other specified coatings to the metal components using electroplating or vacuum deposition processes.
Inspection: Inspect the coated components for uniformity and adherence to thickness specifications.

Assembly Process
Contact Assembly: Insert and secure the contact pins and sockets into the insulating body.
Housing Assembly: Assemble the metal housing around the insulating body and contacts, ensuring the push-pull locking mechanism is functioning correctly.
Soldering: Solder the wires to the contacts if pre-wiring is required before final assembly.
Sealing: Apply any necessary sealing compounds or gaskets to ensure the connector meets IP (Ingress Protection) ratings.

Quality Control
Visual Inspection: Conduct a thorough visual inspection of each connector to check for defects or inconsistencies.
Dimensional Inspection: Measure key dimensions to ensure compliance with design specifications using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.
Electrical Testing: Test each connector for electrical continuity, insulation resistance, and dielectric strength.
Mechanical Testing: Verify the strength and durability of the push-pull locking mechanism and overall connector assembly.

Final Assembly and Packaging
Marking and Labeling: Apply any required markings, such as part numbers, logos, or serial numbers, to the connector.
Final Assembly: Complete the assembly of any remaining components, such as dust caps or protective covers.
Packaging: Package the connectors in protective packaging, ensuring they are ready for shipment and preventing any damage during transport.

Documentation and Shipping
Documentation: Prepare all necessary documentation, including inspection reports, certificates of conformity, and user manuals.
Shipping: Arrange for the shipment of the completed connectors to customers or distributors.
