FAQ
Please provide the camera or equipment model, connector type or mating connector, pin assignment, operating voltage and current, cable length, conductor size, cable outer diameter, shielding requirements, connector orientation, quantity, and any required tests.
If a complete specification is not available, you can also provide connector part numbers, equipment datasheets, drawings, photos, or an existing cable sample for evaluation.
Start with the mating interface on the equipment. The connector series, shell size, contact count, keying, male or female contacts, mounting type, and termination method should all be confirmed before selecting the cable-side connector.
For push-pull, HR10, D-Tap, and other camera interfaces, INTE-AUTO can review the equipment interface, mating connector part number, drawing, or sample and recommend a suitable connector configuration.
Pin assignment and polarity are confirmed from customer-approved information such as the equipment datasheet, wiring diagram, connector specification, existing cable, or customer-provided pinout.
For power cables, positive and negative connections are clearly defined on the cable assembly drawing. For multi-pin connectors, each contact position and wire connection is documented for confirmation before sample production.
We do not recommend determining polarity or pin assignment from connector appearance alone.
Wire gauge should be selected according to operating current, voltage, cable length, allowable voltage drop, connector contact capacity, flexibility, and available cable diameter.
A longer cable or higher-current application may require a larger conductor to control voltage drop. INTE-AUTO can evaluate these parameters together rather than selecting the wire gauge based only on connector size.
Yes, when the electrical requirements and pin assignment of both interfaces are compatible.
INTE-AUTO can manufacture D-Tap to 2-pin push-pull and other D-Tap-to-circular-connector cable assemblies for camera power and related equipment. Before production, the connector model, operating voltage, current, polarity, pin assignment, cable specification, and equipment interface should be confirmed.
Right-angle orientation should be defined according to the equipment socket position, connector keyway or alignment mark, and the required cable exit direction.
For custom assemblies, the cable exit direction can be shown on the drawing relative to a defined reference point on the connector. This is especially important when the cable is installed on compact camera rigs where the wrong orientation may interfere with batteries, monitors, mounting plates, or other accessories.
Shielding requirements depend on what the cable carries and the electromagnetic environment of the equipment.
Power, control, data, and other signal connections may have different shielding requirements. Depending on the application, the cable may use twisted conductors, foil shielding, braided shielding, individual shielding, overall shielding, or a combination of these structures.
Please provide the interface and signal requirements so the shielding and grounding method can be evaluated for the specific cable assembly.
Yes, if the equipment interface and electrical design require both functions in one cable.
A multi-conductor or hybrid cable can be configured with separate conductors for power and control signals. The conductor sizes, pin assignment, shielding, grounding, cable diameter, and connector contact arrangement should be defined according to the equipment requirements.
For these assemblies, INTE-AUTO recommends confirming the complete wiring diagram before prototype production.
The measurement method should be clearly defined because finished cable length can be interpreted differently depending on the connector configuration.
For example, the drawing can define the finished length between specified reference points on both connectors. For right-angle connectors, coiled cables, or multi-branch harnesses, each relevant dimension and cable exit direction should be shown separately.
The required length tolerance should also be confirmed before production.
Yes. An existing drawing or cable sample can be used as a reference for developing a replacement or customized cable assembly.
INTE-AUTO can review the connector interfaces, pin assignment, polarity, cable length, conductor configuration, shielding, connector orientation, strain relief, and other assembly details.
A new drawing and prototype are prepared for confirmation before the cable assembly is released for mass production.
Testing is defined according to the cable design and customer requirements. Standard electrical inspection can include continuity, pin-to-pin verification, short-circuit testing, insulation resistance, and withstand voltage testing where applicable.
Additional mechanical or functional tests can be specified according to the project. The required test items and acceptance criteria should be confirmed during the drawing and sample stage so the same requirements can be applied during production.
Mass production should begin only after the prototype and final technical requirements are approved.
The final confirmation normally includes connector part numbers, mating interfaces, pin assignment, polarity, cable specification, conductor size, finished length and tolerance, connector orientation, shielding and grounding, overmolding or strain relief, labels or markings, BOM, and required test criteria.
If the prototype requires modification, the drawing and specifications are updated and another sample can be produced for evaluation. Once the sample and final documentation are approved, they become the reference for mass production.
